Getting to Wando by public transport

Wando is located on Black Mountain Creek Road in Maules Creek, roughly 45ks out of Narrabri.

Make sure you let camp know you are coming and we will pick you up from Narrabri station. Please make sure you have spoken to someone at camp over the phone before and during your journey. More information on how to contact us.

Make sure you book early as the train often sells out. For all countrylink train services, Melbourne-Sydney, Brisbane-Sydney, Sydney-Narrabri and Broadmeadow-Narrabri, please book at www.nswtrainlink.info

From Sydney

Train departs daily from Central Station at 9:29 am arrives Narrabri at 4:52pm. Prices for this trip start at $50. Book this train at www.nswtrainlink.info

From Newcastle

Book a countrylink service from Broadmeadow to Narrabri, which departs Broadmeadow at 11:45am daily and arrives at Narrabri at 4:52pm. Newcastle cityrail will get you to Broadmeadow. Otherwise you can make your own way to Broadmeadow or Maitland and travel from there.

From Wollongong

Get yourself to Sydney before the 9.29am service to Narrabri departs. Suggestion would be getting on the 7:20am service from Wollongong which arrives at 9:05am.

From Melbourne

There are 2 daily train services from Southern Cross Station to Sydney Central, they both take 11-12 hours. The day service departs Melbourne at 7:50am and the night service departs at 7:00pm. If you take the day service you will end up waiting overnight in Sydney, but the overnight service will get you in about 7am, in plenty of time to have a leisurely breakfast then transfer onto the Sydney-Narrabri connection. Book in advance for both services, both can be booked through www.nswtrainlink.info . These tickets are currently priced at $50 until the end of June.

There are also 2 daily bus services departing with Greyhound that take roughly 14 hours. One leaves at 7:15am arriving at 9.30pm. Another leaves at 8pm and arrives at 8:30am at Sydney Central station. These can be booked at www.greyhound.com.au and at the time of writing were priced at a minimum of $79.

From Brisbane

There are 2 daily services leaving Brisbane (Roma Street) to Sydney Central. The 5:55am takes about 14 and a half hours. Arriving just after 8pm, this will mean you have to spend the night in Sydney before getting on the 9.29 to Narrabri service. The second option departs Brisbane just after 3pm and arrives in Sydney about 7am, a trip of roughly 16 hours. Again both services can be booked through: www.nswtrainlink.info and are currently priced from $50 up.

There are 4 daily bus services from Brisbane to Sydney available from www.greyhound.com.au, offered at around $100, so probably suggest train.
